QUESTION: I’m struggling to figure out what I should get my friend for his birthday. He’s a worldly, articulate guy and has expensive tastes. I was thinking that taking him wine-tasting would be a great gift, but do you have any other suggestions?

Big Sale

QUESTION: I’ve been working as a Sales Consultant for 6 years, and a couple of weeks ago there was an opening for a Sales Manager in my company that I thought I’d get for sure. Anyway, John (the Branch Manager) ended up offering the job to this woman that’s been with the company for less than a year. Sure she’s good-looking, and I’m slightly overweight - but I’ve given 6 years of my life to this company! I’m pretty pissed off about it. Pissed off enough to write in to your silly advice column.
